General Information

Founded in 1879, Saint Mary's Hall is a co-educational, college preparatory, day school rich in tradition and committed to academic excellence.

Academic Excellence

  • Last year the average SAT score of the senior class was:    Verbal: 634      Math: 632
  • Rising ninth graders compete in the annual Campbell Academic Scholarship Competition. Four students are selected for full-tuition awards which are renewable for four year
  • There are three Exchange Programs with Japan – Itako, Kumamoto, and Tokyo.

Advanced Placement Program

Saint Mary's Hall offers 21 Advanced Placement (college level) courses including
English: Language and Literature
Mathematics: Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Computer Science
Science: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Environmental Science, Biology
Social Studies: U.S. Government and Politics, Modern European History, American History
Fine Arts: Studio Arts, Art History

81% of the students last year who took the Advanced Placement Test scored 3 or better out of a possible 5.

Arts Program

Saint Mary's Hall offers a full spectrum of performing and visual arts programs. In addition to the more traditional curricular fare, specialized courses are offered in dance, sculpture, photography, digital imaging, digital video production, directing for the stage, technical theater, and applied music instruction. Advanced Placement courses in 2D art, 3D art and art history also are available.

Saint Mary's Hall is affiliated with the American Montessori Society and abides by the A.M.S. Code of Ethics.
